A former governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Delta state, Chief Great Ogboru, an erstwhile speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei and other prominent opposition leaders in the state on Tuesday officially joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This was as their membership was formally approved at a meeting of the state APC executive committee in Orhuwhorun, Udu Council area of the state on Tuesday attended by leaders and other stakeholders of the party, who stated that the approval of the decampees into the party was a major boost towards wrestling the state from the ruling PDP in 2019.
Those whose interest to join the party were adopted include members of the Delta State Labour Party led by Chief Ogboru, some members of the Accord Party led by the former speaker of the state House of Assembly, some leaders of SDP and some aggrieved leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.
Speaking at the event, the leader of the APC in Delta state, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor advised members of the party to embrace the new members with an open mind and to provide a conducive environment for them to contribute to the growth of the party in the state.
