Two persons, Remi Odili, 42, and Stanley Obanor, 35, have been docked before an Ado-Ekiti magistrate court over alleged impersonation.

The duo was docked over claiming to be officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and collecting salaries to the tune of N14m in the process.

The accused were arraigned with two-count- charge of Impersonation and Fraud.

The police prosecutor Sergeant Oriyomi Akinwale told the court that the accused committed the offence in January 2013 at Ado-Ekiti.

He alleged that the accused unlawfully dressed and presented themselves as police officers.

Oriyomi added that the accused also fraudulently obtained the sum of N14m as salary in the police force, whereas they were not police officers.

He claimed that the accused were dismissed officers from the police force some years ago.
According to him, the offence contravenes Section 419 of the Criminal Code.
